United Methodist Women (UMW)
Arlington UMW is a unit made up of three circles of women. Our purpose is stated as follows:
“The organized unit of the United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ and to develop a creative supportive fellowship and to expand concepts of missionthrough participation in the global ministries of the church”
Anita Allison: The Anita Allison circle meets in the homes of our members on the third Tuesday in January through May at 7:00pm. In June the members either eat out or have a pot luck meeting at a member’s home. Our Circle was named for a missionary of the United Methodist Church. This is the only circle that meets regularly at night. Sylvia Moore is the chair of this circle.
New Mission Opportunity!
Arlington UMW is embarking on a new mission to help support BridgeBread, a wonderful organization that helps people transition out of homelessness and learn life skills to learn more about BridgeBread, click here.
Arlington UMM shall be a creative, supportive fellowship of men who seek to know Jesus Christ, to grow spirituality and to seek daily his will.
Being involved in Men’s Ministry in Arlington United Methodist church means having the awesome privilege to witness men’s lives change and grow in Christ.
The General Commission on Men exists to declare the centrality of Christ in every man’s life. Men’s ministry leads to the spiritual growth of men and effective discipleship. This purpose is served as men are called to model the servant leadership of Jesus Christ.
Each weekend before and after services a UMM man is in the Great Hall distributing “Together We Share” gift cards. Purchase of gift cards gives you 100% of the purchase price toward what ever you use the card for and the issuing company contributes 1% to 5% of the purchase to Arlington United Methodist Men’s group.
The Arlington United Methodist Men’s group sponsors two Boy Scouts of America Scouting Units. Boy Scout Troop 525, which meets weekly in the church and Cub Scout Pack 55, which meets monthly at the Drummond Elementary School in St. Ann, MO. For information about either unit please contact Gary Linke at (314) 291-8127.
