United Methodist Men & United Methodist Women

United Methodist Women (UMW)
Arlington UMW is a unit made up of three circles of women. Our purpose is stated as follows:

“The organized unit of the United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ and to develop a creative supportive fellowship and to expand concepts of missionthrough participation in the global ministries of the church”

We meet as a unit regularly in the church Fellowship Hall on the second Tuesday in February through May and September through December, at 7:00pm, with occasional meetings on Saturday mornings or Sunday Afternoons. The circles meet at various times either in homes or at the church. We focus our mission giving on women, children and youth. Our giving is a pledge of second mile giving and separate from our individual pledge to the church as a whole.
We discuss the business of our unit in a short meeting and then have a program on various topics relating to the missions of women, children and youth.
We belong to the Gateway Central District of the United Methodist Women and participate in may different events throughout St Louis County and throughout Missouri.
For more information on the United Methodist Women’s unit at Arlington please contact our Membership, Nurture and Outreach Coordinator Shirley Cantriel at (314) 838-9123 or via email at scantriel@sbcglobal.net or our President, Sue Daniel at sdaniel08@att.net and she would love to give you more information.  Below are the current circles and information about where you might see yourself making a connection!  Visitors and new members are always welcome; we look forward to meeting you.

Ruby Kemper Circle:  The Ruby Kemper Circle meets in the homes of our members on the third Thursday at 1:00pm.  Our Chairperson is Jeanne Schneider.
Shay Blackwell Circle:  This circle was the first online circle at Arlington and we also meet monthly for a hands-on service project.  Our Chairperson is Loretta Brandon.

United Methodist Men (UMM)

Arlington UMM shall be a creative, supportive fellowship of men who seek to know Jesus Christ, to grow spirituality and to seek daily his will.

Being involved in Men’s Ministry in Arlington United Methodist church means having the awesome privilege to witness men’s lives change and grow in Christ.

The General Commission on Men exists to declare the centrality of Christ in every man’s life. Men’s ministry leads to the spiritual growth of men and effective discipleship. This purpose is served as men are called to model the servant leadership of Jesus Christ.

Each weekend before and after services a UMM man is in the Great Hall distributing “Together We Share” gift cards. Purchase of gift cards gives you 100% of the purchase price toward what ever you use the card for and the issuing company contributes 1% to 5% of the purchase to Arlington United Methodist Men’s group.

The Arlington United Methodist Men’s group sponsors two Boy Scouts of America Scouting Units. Boy Scout Troop 525, which meets weekly in the church and Cub Scout Pack 55, which meets monthly at the Drummond Elementary School in St. Ann, MO. For information about either unit please contact Gary Linke at (314) 291-8127.
