Our J.A.M. program this past June was a great step forward into the community for our congregation. I want to share with you the impact it has had on our neighborhood. We had over 60 children who were enrolled from AUMC, La Trinidad, our neighborhood, and Care and Learn. We averaged over 40 each of the four weeks, with more than 70 children plus their families on our last evening. Nine families from Chateau du Mont, 15 families from La Trinidad, five families from Arlington and one family from Care and Learn were participated in J.A.M. In addition, we had a staff of more than 20 people from Arlington and La Trinidad who made the program possible. This is a great start in terms of deepening our community ties, but it is only a beginning!
It’s time for us to begin thinking about our Block Party in September. We’re going to invite the neighborhood over to our place on September 18 for an afternoon of fun and friendship. Our first Block Party meeting will be on August 9 at 6:30 p.m. If you have a passion to share the love of God in Jesus Christ with our neighborhood, I hope that you will come to the meeting and be a part of planning this great event!
Enjoy the rest of the summer, and try to stay cool!
Peace, Pastor Barbara
